We are thrilled to share an exciting update on the construction of our new aqua feed factory in Jinja, Uganda: The construction of the production tower has reached its maximum height! This state-of-the-art facility represents a significant step forward in supporting aquaculture development across East Africa. Once complete, the factory will ensure a steady supply of high-quality fish feed for farmers in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda.
We remain committed to empowering fish farmers with the tools and resources they need to succeed. As part of this commitment, we have established dedicated aqua feed shops in key locations, including Jinja and Hoima. Through these strategically located shops, farmers can now easily purchase high-quality feed and transport it to their farms with greater convenience and reduced costs.
At De Heus, we recognize that empowering farmers goes beyond providing feed; it’s about being on their farms, sharing knowledge and fostering strong partnerships. To foster this, we regularly organize aquaculture seminars designed to equip local fish farmers with sustainable and efficient farm management practices. These seminars cover critical topics such as optimizing feed use and maintaining water quality. By providing farmers with these insights, we are setting them on a path toward success, higher yields, and long-term sustainability.
Our aqua feed is formulated to meet the specific nutritional needs of tilapia at every stage of their growth. By using our feed, farmers can be confident in the health and growth of their fish, ensuring a reliable and profitable harvest. Our shops in Jinja and Hoima are open to all tilapia farmers, and we warmly invite you to visit, explore our products, and see the difference De Heus feed can make.
The construction of our new aqua feed factory in Jinja marks the beginning of a transformative journey for aquaculture in East Africa. By combining advanced production capabilities with a commitment to supporting farmers, we are building a strong foundation for the region’s aquaculture industry.
